A History of Optimizing Supply Chains
Since 1990, Manhattan Associates has helped customers use technology to identify the weak links in their supply chains, reconfigure their processes and optimize their performance.
Shortly after we started in 1990 in Manhattan Beach, California, we gained a reputation for providing world-class warehouse management solutions. We have continually expanded our products and added capabilities to better serve our customers. Today we offer a holistic approach to supply chain with SCOPE: Supply Chain Optimization—Planning through Execution, which brings together all the tools you need to integrate, upgrade and optimize your supply chain.
Throughout the years we've grown to meet the needs of our more than 1,200 global customers by employing 2,000 people in 10 offices on four continents. In 2006 alone, we added 400 employees to help us initiate 260 implementations. Our investment in research and development continues to exceed any other company's, and has increased 250% in the last five years, to a 2007 total of $45 million.

- Introduced the Total Cost-to-Serve supply chain platform application
- Introduced the Labor Scheduling Optimization solution to automate workforce scheduling and forecasting, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective use of labor resources
- Moved Labor Management to the Supply Chain Process Platform (SCPP)
- Launched Manhattan MET™: Method-based Education & Training, incorporating proven methodologies and hands-on training to expedite adoption across organizations
- Introduced the Supply Chain Leaders program designed to recognize customers that are committed to advancing operational efficiencies and overall company profitability through supply chain optimization
- 2007:
- Launched SCOPE: Supply Chain Optimization—Planning through Execution, which integrates all solution suites on a single process platform to ease upgrades, extensions and optimization
- Introduced X-suite Solutions to address complex cross-functional business issues
- Introduced Supply Chain Intelligence to enable the creation of dashboards, analytics, views, user-defined alerts and key management reports quickly and easily
- 2006:
- Launched the industry's first fully integrated planning through execution solutions suite for comprehensive end-to-end supply chain management
- Expanded Science Advisory Board to include several thought leaders from leading institutions such as Wharton and MIT
- Increased number of associates by 20%. Continued to add significant industry domain expertise and R&D talent
- 2005:
- Acquired Evant, expanding solution footprint to include Planning and Forecasting and Inventory Optimization
- 2004:
- Introduced enhanced and integrated Warehouse Management and Transportation Management products
- Grew research and development staff by 33%
- Incorporated operations in China and Singapore
- Expanded worldwide presence to 1,400 employees in 20 offices and 11 countries
- 2003:
- Acquired ReturnCentral, Inc., and Streamsoft LLC
- Joined the Auto-ID Center and announced RFID in a Box® solution
- Expanded Top 100 Retail Compliance Guarantee to include emerging RFID requirements
- Closed out year with more than 1,000 employees, more than 900 customers and $196.8 million in revenue
- 2002:
- Acquired Logistics.com
- Opened Center of Expertise in Sydney, Australia and a Benelux Center of Expertise in the Netherlands
- Secured partnerships and began operations to serve customers throughout Asia-Pacific, including Japan and Singapore
- Established an office in India

- Expanded business development and operations into France and Germany
- Earned ISO 9001 Certificate of Approval

- Acquired Intrepa LLC
