Manhattan Associates Launches dcVelocity™ a Low Risk, Rapid Turnkey Solution for e-fulfillment
A Consortium of Eight Proven Solution Providers Partner to Provide Pre-Engineered, Seamlessly Integrated e-fulfillment
ATLANTA - April 18, 2000 - Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANH), announced today dcVelocity™, a consortium designed to deliver rapidly deployed, seamlessly integrated, high performance and scalable e-fulfillment solutions. DcVelocity helps to reduce the time from data analysis to installation/start-up by almost 50%.
Participants in the consortium include Peach State Integrated Technologies Inc., Crisplant Inc., Interlake Material Handling Inc., Raymond Corporation/Carolina Handling LLC, Real Time Solutions, SeayCo Integrators, Inc. and Storopack, Inc. dcVelocity™ uses a proprietary Flash Cube™ process, which optimizes historical order/line/SKU data to develop subsystems and order fulfillment methodologies for existing or proposed SKU bases.
For companies with limited data, a configuration process is deployed to develop sub-systems based on business plans and forecasted growth. dcVelocity's materials handling components are pre-engineered and the software is pre-integrated, resulting in a fully integrated solution that can be rapidly deployed.
The pre-engineered materials handling components include storage systems (pallet, bulk, carton flow, pick modules, etc.), conveyors (transporting, accumulating, sorting), protective packaging systems, peripherals (scales, tapers, packing benches, etc.), and fork truck technologies. Pre-integrated software functions include warehouse management, automated picking, and warehouse control. These customized, high-performance systems allow users to process simple or complex orders such as single line/single-unit orders, single line/multi-unit orders, or multi-line multi-zone orders. Changes in order volumes, service levels, or complexities are easily managed with the system's flexibility.
