Carter’s operates out of five domestic and international distribution centers and handles approximately 31,000 SKUs. Last year, it shipped approximately 252 million units and employed about 1,000 employees at its peak. In recent years, increasingly complex fulfillment demands and value-added service requests required a change in the way Carter’s approached its retail supply chain management. In this Portrait of Leadership video, company managers explain how they solved their challenges with a Manhattan solution that worked equally well in a 700-person facility and a 5-person facility to allow workers to more efficiently pick, pack and perform value-added services.
