Nucleus Research Recognizes Manhattan Associates as a Leader in Inventory Optimization - Again

nucleus research 2017

Manhattan Associates has again been recognized as a leader in Nucleus Research’s latest Inventory Optimization (IO) Value Matrix, which evaluated the usability and functionality of the most influential IO solutions in the market.

Nucleus Research specifically calls out Manhattan's functionalities such as:

  • Advanced planning
  • Demand forecasting
  • Replenishment
  • S&OP

Manhattan Associates uses a proprietary algorithm for demand forecasting, The Unified Forecasting Method (UFM) at the core of our IO solution. It sets the Manhattan solution apart from others in the marketplace.

Nucleus notes that Manhattan’s “omni-inventory optimization considers the variability of forecasts across channels and allows users to optimize service level targets by selling channel to optimize overall buying. Manhattan is deploying self-learning algorithms that help tune inventory strategies, finding and correcting ill-fitting inventory profiles.”

The newly released S&OP (sales and operations planning) tool helps organizations plan by running “what-if” simulations in a fully integrated environment. This allows inventory planners to take into account the impact to operational planning and better streamline business operations.

For replenishment, Manhattan simulates the optimal upper echelon target service levels that indirectly impact end-customer service, but directly impact inventory investments. This is just one of the MEIO capabilities which helps differentiate Manhattan’s approach from the rest of the market.
