Manhattan Associates proud to be a leader in 2014 Gartner ‘Magic Quadrant’ for Warehouse Management Systems
Led by Dwight Klappich, analysts at Gartner issued the report to measure technology vendors in several different tech categories across two dimensions: "completeness of vision" and "ability to execute." In total, Gartner evaluated 18 WMS offerings in its Magic Quadrant research, and Manhattan Associates is positioned the furthest in both axes of measurement: completeness of vision to the WMS market and its ability to execute on that vision.
Two points of emphasis in Gartner’s 2014 Magic Quadrant evaluation were Supply Chain Execution (SCE) convergence and User Experience. Speaking to the increased importance of Supply Chain Execution as a factor, Klappich wrote: “True SCE convergence is when a vendor has developed multiple SCE and related functions on a common technical architecture that shares a UI, data model and business logic, and this is only obtainable from a small number of WMS vendors today.”
Klappich also elaborated on the heightened role of customer experience in this year’s evaluation, writing: “In this year's Magic Quadrant, one of the notable areas of differentiation between vendors is user experience, and given customer interest, this has received more consideration in the evaluation of offerings.”
In addition, despite being a comparatively mature software market, Gartner was direct in confirming the sector has growth ahead of it.
“WMS innovation hasn't stopped,” the report states. “Leading WMS vendors continue to enhance and extend core capabilities, as well as expand the breadth of their application footprints. They now provide more value-added capabilities surrounding the core WMS, or what Gartner calls ‘extended WMS.’”
Manhattan Associates is proud to maintain its leadership position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.
