Toy Retailer Picwic Delivers Smiles during Peak Season with Manhattan Associates

Leading French toy retailer Picwic has boosted product availability across its store network and improved operating margins with Manhattan Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) Supply Chain Commerce Solutions. The process and business performance improvements enabled by Manhattan’s solutions contributed to a strong result over the Christmas trading period and have helped drive Picwic’s ongoing growth.
Maxime Antoniutti, Supply Chain director at Picwic, attributes the success of the project to a number of factors: “The Manhattan technology allows us to accommodate the huge seasonal demand peaks associated with running our toy and creative leisure divisions which together comprise 15,000 stock-keeping units (SKUs) and 6 million case shipments every year. This is a major challenge since we use 65,000 sq. ft. of warehousing space in low season and 185,000 sq. ft. in peak-season. In December, more than 4,000 pallets are shipped every week, our filling rates are close to capacity and picking at this level becomes strategic.”
With Manhattan’s solutions, Picwic has already delivered productivity gains of 25 percent and now can: optimise the scheduling of inbound supplier deliveries, streamline picking, group products according to store merchandising requirements, reduce store delivery errors and drive overall margin improvement.
