August 2015 Logistics Market Snapshot
The August Edition of the Logistics Market Snapshot is now available. This data is compiled from more than 300 external information sources the Georgia Center of Innovation for Logistics monitors and filters to bring you a concise “snapshot” for comparison between the various transportation modes, warehousing and distribution, and the economy at large.
Here are noteworthy highlights from this month’s Snapshot:
- U.S. light vehicle sales are on pace to exceed 17 million for the full year, which hasn't happened since 2001. (Source: AAR)
- Intermodal rail traffic in July 2015 was 3.5% higher, year-over-year. The weekly average of 266,378 units in July was the highest weekly average for July in history. (Source: AAR)
- Under the PMI, new orders increased to 56.5%, the highest it's been so far in 2015.
