Arcadia Selects Manhattan Supply Chain Commerce Platform to Orchestrate Omnichannel Fulfilment Operation and Drive Business Growth
LONDON and ATLANTA , March 13, 2014
Global Supply Chain Commerce Solutions provider, Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ: MANH), today announced that Arcadia Group, the UK based multi-national retailer, has selected multiple components from Manhattan’s Supply Chain Commerce Solutions portfolio to enable new supply chain processes and maximize service levels across its growing omnichannel retail operations.
Arcadia Group operates a network of 1,500 stores in the UK, 700+ franchise and concession stores in 42 international markets, and an online retail operation serving customers in 123 countries and involving some 40 websites supporting multiple languages and currencies. Its brand portfolio includes Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Wallis and Evans. With such a complex and evolving commerce footprint, the retailer needed a proven, scalable, world-class Supply Chain Commerce platform to enable its omnichannel retail operations and to support the business’s continued growth.
Sir Philip Green, owner of Arcadia Group, said, “Manhattan’s solutions will help our team manage the growing supply chain complexity associated with running a multi-brand, multi-channel and increasingly international retail operation. They will help ensure our brands’ products continue to be readily available to our customers throughout the world, no matter how they choose to shop with us – in store and online.”
Arcadia selected the Manhattan solutions platform based on the company’s track record working with many of the world’s leading retailers, its Supply Chain Commerce vision and the ability of Manhattan’s solutions to drive margin enhancement. The Manhattan solutions will replace Arcadia’s legacy supply chain technologies and will be fully integrated with Arcadia’s other enterprise systems.
Alda Andreotti, Arcadia’s supply chain director added, “The Manhattan solutions will help us streamline operational processes within our distribution centers and provide us with improved visibility of both inventory and data across our supply chain operations. They will help support new routes to market as we build our eCommerce and multi-channel capabilities and as we expand internationally. A more flexible fulfilment approach and the improved service levels will help us strengthen loyalty and customer relationships, which in turn will help drive revenue and profitability.”
Craig Sears-Black, UK managing director at Manhattan Associates, commented, “We’re delighted to welcome Arcadia Group to the Manhattan customer community. Arcadia’s investment will provide a strong foundation on which the omnichannel retailer can build a world-class supply chain, and we look forward to working closely with the Arcadia team to help increase the Group’s service levels, sales and profitability.”
Arcadia Group operates more than 1,500 stores in the UK, 659 franchised stores in 42 international markets, an online retail operation serving customers in 123 countries and involving some 40 websites supporting multiple languages and currencies, and a brand portfolio that includes the likes of Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins and BHS.
Internationally, Arcadia Group’s franchise business has opened 127 new outlets in the last year, of which 50 were Topshop/Topman, bringing the total number of Topshop/Topman franchised stores to 261 operating in 35 countries. Arcadia Group’s growth overseas is accelerating with a further 161 new store openings planned for the coming year. Europe has become a significant focus for Arcadia Group with 11 Topshop/Topman concessions recently opening in flagship department store locations across Europe. These include Galeries Lafayette in Paris, De Bijenkorf in Amsterdam and Karstadt and KaDeWe locations in Germany. Following Leonard Green and Partners’ investment in Topshop/Topman, Arcadia Group is growing its US business. The company opened its fourth US fully-owned Topshop/Topman flagship store in The Grove in Los Angeles in 2013, and will open further stores in the year ahead including a 40,000 sq. ft. flagship on Fifth Avenue in October 2014, second only in size to the Oxford Circus flagship in London.
Also within the US, Arcadia Group has a multi-channel business partnership with department store group Nordstrom having initially opened 14 Topshop/Topman departments as well as trading on Nordstrom’s website. Arcadia Group has recently opened a further 28 Topshop and 18 Topman departments in Nordstrom stores. Arcadia Group also successfully introduced Topshop into Hong Kong in 2013 with partners Lane Crawford. For more information on Arcadia Group, please visit www.arcadiagroup.co.uk.
