Giving back to our communities

Our commitment to our people includes providing opportunities to give back to our communities. We work to be a force for good through our global community engagement initiative, MA Connect. Through MA Connect, team members have the opportunity to make a difference in our local communities through volunteer events. And with our Purpose Day program, every team member can volunteer their time and skills for a full day to an organisation or cause that interests them.

Community involvement in the U.S.

Open Hand Atlanta is a longtime community partner. Every year the Atlanta team helps prepare, pack and delivers healthy medically-tailored meals for individuals struggling with chronic illnesses or food insecurities in the Metro Atlanta community.

The Manhattan Connect team is also proud to partner with City of Refuge, a non-profit organisation that helps individuals and families in Atlanta transition out of crisis. The Manhattan Connect team adds hands and hearts wherever volunteers are needed.

Community involvement in India

Our Bangalore office goes to work in their communities with a focus on education and healthcare. In partnership with the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, the team sponsors underprivileged children in need of primary and higher education.

In partnership with the Sri Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind, the Bangalore team also sponsored renovations and the facilitation of a much-needed fire protection system and Hemodialysis machines.

Community involvement in EMEA

Our Manhattan Connect volunteers across Europe partner with a range of charitable organisations that support important causes such as mental health, ALS, children’s hospice and more. The UK team partnered with Co-op (a local grocery retailer) to support underperforming schools and put on their running shoes in support of MIND’s annual Walk/Run Marathon.

Our Dutch team hosted virtual education sessions with ALS NL. Our team in Düsseldorf hosted a virtual education session and toy drive for Germany-Kinderhospitz Regenbogen (a children’s hospice).

The French team supported Fondation des Femmes (an organisation that fights against violence and advocates for equality between women and men) with in-person volunteering at various stores and the collection of donated items.

Community involvement in APAC

Our Manhattan Connect volunteers across APAC volunteer with charitable organisations supporting the elimination of hunger and reducing climate impact. The Australian team participated in the Help Oz Harvest charity, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation with food hamper packing and food distribution day.

The Japan team supported Second Harvest, a charity providing a food safety net by delivering surplus food to children’s homes, single mothers and people with disabilities.

The Singapore team supported Green Nudge, a charity aiming to promote environmentally sustainable behavior and practices that lead to a low-carbon, zero-waste alternatives in Singapore by 2030.

Our team in China supported the Red Cross Society of China, a humanitarian social relief organisation helping local communities in times of natural disasters and emergencies.

Our people supporting sustainability

As a global community, we support (and take inspiration from) events like Big Energy Saving Week (in January), Earth Day (in April) and Plastic Free July as opportunities to not only focus on traditional approaches to saving energy but also to share ideas on how we can all help reduce our carbon footprints and be more eco-friendly and sustainable as a business and as individuals too.
