2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for WMS
Find out which WMS of the 21 vendors in this independent evaluation is best aligned with your operational and business objectives.
The 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is an annual research report that evaluates each vendor independently, using a consistent methodology and helps enterprises make more confident WMS and broader supply chain decisions.
What’s the Gartner perspective on WMS technology trends?
The report suggests that three technology trends are reshaping the warehousing that enterprises should consider when evaluating WMS vendors:
- Cloud-native, composable WMS beyond core features. Buyers are shifting from basic feature checklists to modern, cloud-native platforms that emphasise usability, adaptability, and rapid time to value, with labour, slotting, yard, and performance management now expected as standard.
- AI- and automation-ready WMS for labour and complexity. Vendors are embedding machine learning, agentic and generative AI, vision systems and deep robotics integration so warehouses can orchestrate human and automated work, optimise operations and reduce the impact of labor shortages.
- Converged WMS and supply chain execution. Organisations increasingly favour suites and ecosystems that connect WMS with transportation, yard, order and returns management, enabling unified execution and analytics across the end-to-end logistics network.
Why read the report?
Gartner Magic Quadrant for WMS is meant to provide a view into the trends impacting the global WMS market while highlighting each vendor’s strengths and cautions, so readers understand where solutions are strong, where to be careful, and how they differ from one another. The accompanying Critical Capabilities report is expected to go deeper, outlining their strengths and cautions. Use it to stay grounded in what drives real operational impact: efficiency, service levels, and long-term resilience. Together, they offer enterprises a clear, analyst-backed framework to assess what “good” looks like, beyond vendor claims.
Who should read the report?
Supply chain and warehouse operations executives as well as IT and technology decision makers evaluating a WMS for high-volume distribution and omni-channel operations can use this report to streamline their vendor selection process. The report helps align internal stakeholders, benchmark the current systems' capabilities, and support building a confident, defensible shortlist of WMS vendors.
