Monoprix Selects Manhattan Associates WMS to Run New State-of-the-Art Facility
- October 18, 2021
Manhattan Associates (NASDAQ: MANH) today announced that Monoprix has deployed Manhattan’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) to run its newly launched warehouse in Moissy-Cramayel. The French retailer selected Manhattan’s market-leading solution to support the acceleration of its non-food ecommerce activities (fashion and home), to optimize its omnichannel logistics processes and enable the strategic automation of its new facility.
With 650 stores in France and 121 abroad, more than 3 million home deliveries per year and some 800,000 customers per day, Monoprix is one of France’s leading retailers and its stores sell a wide array of food products, along with fashion, beauty and home items.
In order to respond to ecommerce demand (a trend that has been accelerated by the pandemic) and the growing volume and diversity of non-food orders, Monoprix launched a strategic project aimed at augmenting its omnichannel management capabilities.
Monoprix has centralised all its non-food fulfilment activities and ecommerce order processing at its newly built 100,000 m² warehouse in Moissy-Cramayel, which was officially inaugurated on the 14th of October 2021. This ultra-modern site, whose robotic and automated equipment has been designed by Exotec (part of the Manhattan Automation Network), will enable Monoprix’s logistics function to reach unprecedented levels of productivity and performance.
To manage the operations of this new state-of-the-art facility, Monoprix has chosen to deploy Manhattan Associates' WMS. The retailer is also deploying RFID technology which is also managed via Manhattan’s WMS to further streamline the order fulfilment process, with approximately 80% of the products set to be equipped with RFID tags.
Sébastien Laizet, supply chain director, Monoprix explains: "With our ecommerce activity booming and developments planned for our home and fashion departments, we decided to set up our logistics with a state-of-art solution capable of absorbing the volumes that have been increasing rapidly for several months.
“To support us in this ambitious project, we chose Manhattan Associates' industry-leading WMS to integrate harmoniously with Exotec's robotic technology, both of which have been deployed at our new Moissy-Cramayel site.
"The ease of use and configuration of Manhattan's WMS allows us to be fully autonomous with Exotec’s robotics platform and this interoperability will help us increase productivity and speed of execution, while reinforcing our ability to absorb future peaks in activity.
“In addition, combining RFID technology with Manhattan's WMS will allow us to guarantee more accurate, faster ecommerce order preparation and manage a more efficient receipt of parcels in to stores before they are collected by customers too,” finished Laizet.
Sébastien Lefébure, managing director Southern Europe for Manhattan Associates added:
"We are delighted that such a well-respected, household brand as Monoprix has deployed our WMS solution to manage and support the growth of its ecommerce capabilities.
“This close cooperation between Monoprix and Manhattan, combined with our ability to integrate with Exotec’s robotics platform confirms the importance of collaborative, interoperable approaches to warehouse solutions, and supply chains more generally. Furthermore, this project also highlights Manhattan’s ability to support and deliver strategic and increasingly ambitious projects for our customers too," ended Lefébure.
