Waypoints Omni 25.4

Agentic AI, Agile Fulfillment, and Next-Generation Store Operations

The 25.4 release of Manhattan Active Omni introduces transformative enhancements to help you elevate customer experiences, streamline store and fulfillment operations, and fine-tune performance.

25.4 Innovations

Point of Sale

With the 25.4, we're delivering sales goals dashboards, secure multi-user PIN lock, required bank deposits, expanded product attributes, store health monitoring, localized promotions, mobile printer selection, and Agentic AI insights, plus stability and usability improvements for in-store operations.

At a Glance

  • AI Store Assistant
  •  Real-time Store Sales Goals
  • Operational improvements
  • New Store Health Dashboard and more.

Store Sales Goals

Sales performance is now always within reach for store staff. Corporate teams can configure measurable goals for each POS KPI by the hour, and associates can track progress with a single tap. The POS performance dashboard delivers real-time visibility into those goals, with flexible daily and hourly views that make it easy to spot trends, identify problem areas, and adjust tactics to drive results throughout the day.

Store Assistant Agent

We’re excited to announce a limited release of Agentic AI for store staff. The Store Assistant provides store associates and managers with real-time insights on sales, product performance, customer behavior, and returns directly within the application. Store staff can ask questions and get quick answers to information like:

  • Daily performance queries (e.g., total sales, hourly breakdown, associate performance).
  • Weekly and monthly sales trend analysis.
  • Product insights including top sellers, categories, and purchase patterns.
  • Returns analysis with comparison to previous periods.
  • Customer insights include high spenders and average transaction values.
  • A support for interactive exploration of store metrics.

This feature is available as part of our Early Access Program on a limited basis. This requires an additional step to activate. Please contact your Manhattan Associates representative for more information.

Operational Innovations

Today’s retail stores are busy hubs for omnichannel commerce, requiring both associates and technology to be flexible and multi-functional. Manhattan Active Point of Sale continues to deliver on its promise of faster, smoother shopping experiences, with customer-centric innovations that also make life easier for associates and store operations more efficient. A new multi-user PIN lock feature and printer selection capability allow associates to respond faster to customer needs, while a new Store Health dashboard and Bank Deposit requirement ensure better alignment with operational expectations and procedures. Finally, new Promotions and Product Detail configurations allow you to extend even richer, more targeted shopping experiences to your customers.

Multi-user Pin Lock

Store staff can now switch between multiple user accounts directly from the lock screen, without fully logging out of the application. This makes it faster and easier for associates to share a register, while keeping existing sessions active and secure. The result is a smoother handoff between users and less downtime at the register. Users will simply select their name from a dropdown list of signed in accounts and enter their PIN to unlock the register.

Configuration to Require a Bank Deposit

A new optional setting allows retailers to require stores to deposit excess cash before closing. When enabled, the system prompts users to complete a bank deposit and prevents store closure until the deposit is recorded.

Support for Additional Item Attributes on Product Detail Page

The product detail page in catalog now fully supports configuration of additional item attributes beyond just size and color. Retailers can add attributes such as fit, fabric, finish, etc., and the PDP renders these selectable attributes if applicable for the item. This is achieved purely with configuration and does not require any UI extensions.

Store Health Dashboard

A new dashboard is available to help IT teams monitor the status of their stores and registers to get real-time visibility into which registers in the field are having issues. Users can see at a high level which store in the field are facing issues and drill in to see specifically which registers are reporting issues with things like peripheral connectivity, network slowness, or API failures.

Promotion Configuration by Store’s Local Time

Promotions can now be configured to apply only during a specific window in the store’s local time zone. This is useful for promotional events that last for a few hours such as “flash sales” or “happy hours”. To set this up, a single promotion can be created, and a new optional setting exists to honor the store’s local time zone for evaluation.

Scan to Select Printer on Mobile Registers

Mobile registers now support the ability to scan a receipt printer barcode or QR code to identify which mobile printer should be used to print a receipt. This allows associates to quickly select the nearest printer on the store floor if a customer would like a paper copy of their receipt.

Other Point of Sale Enhancements

We’ve also made some enhancements to improve the usability and reliability of the application when network connections are unstable:

  • Increased visibility to lines in the cart with a collapsed line modifier drawer and minimized quantity selector.
  • Improved payment handling during network drops in communication with the payment terminal.
  • Several enhancements to the developer experience when using the ProActive designer to build UI extensions.
  • Support for linked items while in offline mode.

Store Inventory & Fulfillment

With the 25.4 release, we've added an Agentic AI Store Assistant for operational insights, RFID support for mixed tagging, enhanced thermal printing with self-service tools, updated configuration UIs, and certification for iOS/iPadOS V26, improving accuracy, efficiency, and store performance visibility.

At a Glance

  • AI Store Assistant
  • Expanded RFID support
  • Thermal printing and configuration enhancements
  • Store operations tech updates.

Store Assistant Agent

The Store Assistant agent delivers real-time visibility into store receiving, fulfillment, and operational performance, with capabilities such as inbound package tracking, package- and unit-level item insights, fulfillment progress monitoring, order status and pickup tracking, and rejection analysis.

The Store Assistant is being made available as part of our Early Access Program on a limited basis, which requires an additional step to activate.  Please contact your Manhattan representative for more information.

RFID Innovations

Just starting your tagging journey? No problem. The 25.4 release expands Store RFID capabilities to support partially tagged products, products with challenging tag readability, and assortments containing both tagged and untagged items.

With this release, end-to-end EPC capture for partially tagged products is now available across receiving, adjustments, counts, packing, BOPIS, and transfers. The system supports optimistic tag capture for SKUs that are not yet fully tagged in the supply chain, while still accommodating products with physical characteristics that make tag reading difficult.

For fully tagged products, EPC capture is enforced. In exceptional cases where the tag cannot be captured, the item barcode can be entered instead.

These enhancements allow seamless support for a mix of tagged, partially tagged, and untagged SKUs. The result is more accurate inventory, a smoother RFID rollout, and an improved associate experience.

Thermal Printing

Thermal printing for shipping labels has been enhanced to deliver a smoother, more reliable experience. New capabilities include:

  • Self-service printer setup and testing for reduced dependency on IT.
  • Automated PDF fallback when printers are unavailable, ensuring uninterrupted label generation.
  • Simplified device management to streamline administration.

Configuration

New configuration user interfaces are now available. The existing UIs will remain available until August 15, 2026, when they will be deprecated.

Order Management

In the 25.4 release, we're delivering dynamic merge routing for efficient consolidation, store-specific pickup order capacity limits, future date simulation for ATP testing, enhanced Shopify BOPIS and payment flows, plus, updated configuration UIs to simplify inventory management and improve control.

At a Glance

  • Dynamic Merge Routing
  • Improved promising
  • Expanded Shopify integration
  • New configuration UIs.

Dynamic Merge Routing

Introduces flexible rules to control where shipments are consolidated based on order and item attributes. Retailers can now determine when to merge, where to merge, and how to optimize consolidation to improve efficiency and customer experience. For example, ensuring customers receive a single shipment.

Interactive Inventory & Promising

Precise inventory and promising are keys to successful order management, and we've introduced two new features to ensure you're able to meet demand and customer expectations for pickups and deliveries.

Capacity for Pickup Orders

While pickup orders are typically unconstrained, peak holidays and promotions can overwhelm stores, leading to missed SLAs and reduced customer satisfaction. Retailers can now configure store-specific capacity limits for BOPIS orders, providing greater flexibility and control to manage workload and protect SLAs—independently from ship-from-store capacity.

Future Date Simulation for Cart & Product ATP

A new attribute lets users test Product & Cart ATP delivery date calculations and configurations without waiting for future dates, enabling faster and more flexible validation of delivery date promises.

Shopify Integration Enhancements

The Shopify integration now supports location-level inventory availability from Manhattan Active® Omni, enabling Pickup in Store and Shop My Store experiences. Buy Online Pickup In Store order creation is also now supported, streamlining BOPIS flows for Shopify orders.

Finally, re-authorization of Shopify payments is now supported for both Shopify stores and Shop Pay-only stores.

Manage Inventory Configurations

New configuration user interfaces are now available for Manage Inventory Configurations. The existing UIs will remain available until August 15, 2026, when they will be deprecated.

Contact Center

Delivering exceptional customer service requires clarity, speed, and personalization. Manhattan customer service solutions continue to evolve with features designed to simplify agent workflows, provide greater transparency during interactions, and create more personalized experiences for customers. From capturing language preferences to improving order transparency and streamlining usability, these updates give agents the tools they need to resolve issues faster and engage with customers more effectively.

Preferred Customer Language

Customer service agents can now capture a customer's preferred language on their customer profile. When creating orders for this customer, the Item Search results are automatically translated to this preferred language. Optionally, capturing the customer’s language on the Item Search screen can be mandated if needed.

Display Price Markdowns on Item Details

In the Item Search page, the base price of an item is now displayed with a strikethrough when the selling price is lower. This provides agents with a clear visual cue when an item is discounted, improving transparency and potential conversion during customer interactions.

Usability Improvements: Add Items

In the Edit Order page, the "Add more items" link has been repositioned to a more prominent position, providing better visibility for agents.

Usability Improvements: No Purchase History

If Customer Metrics are enabled but a customer’s profile displays “No Purchase History”, this section of the header is now collapsed/hidden for an improved experience.

Recalculate % Discounts after Release

In implementations where no external promotion engine is called for order updates that occur after orders are released, Active Omni can now recalculate percentage-based promotions or appeasements when an order is partially cancelled after release.

Agentic AI for CSRs

We are excited to announce a limited release of Agentic AI for customer service. This new AI assistant empowers CSRs with insights, answers, and recommendations, turning routine tasks into opportunities to save time and serve customers better.

Promotions

Proactively providing relevant promotions and personalized product recommendations, helping CSRs meet their sales goals.

Natural Language

Answering natural language questions about business policies, SOPs, or customer FAQs. For example: What’s our return policy? How do I handle a lost package claim? Do we ship to Puerto Rico?

Answering natural language questions about orders, shipments, or returns. For example: What’s the ETA for this order? How did this customer pay and how much was authorized? Were any promotions applied?

Digital Self-Service

Order Details

Digital Self Service now offers an Order Details page tailored for the web. The Order Details page offers a comprehensive view of order information – such as customer information, order taxes and S&H, payment status, and items organized by their status. Actions such as returns, tracking, or order edits are available for each status group.

Customers can now update their payment method on the Pay by Link page by removing an existing payment and adding a new one. This link can be embedded in transactional emails or a website. A link to the Update Payment page is also available from the Digital Self Service Order History page.

Return Label Email Address

The Returns and Exchanges flow now allows customers to provide an alternate email address for the return shipping label.

Customer Engagement

Case Audit Trail

Key updates made to Cases are now displayed in the Agent Inbox and Case Timeline. This chronological record of updates to attributes such as case status, assignee, and resolution provides clear visibility into the changes each case undergoes, enabling agents to resolve customer issues more effectively.

Filter out Spam Emails

Customer Engagement can now identify and blocks spam emails from appearing in the Agent Inbox. If an email is identified as spam/junk, the corresponding email address is banned. These emails can be viewed in a new Junk Email Dashboard for review. If verified as genuine, agents can unban customers from the Banned Customer list.

Facebook Messenger in the Agent Inbox

Facebook Messages are now routed to the Agent Inbox for easier handling by agents.

Manhattan Active Maven

FAQs by Locale or Brand

Maven’s AI chat can now read from multiple FAQ documents when answering customer questions. Businesses can maintain FAQs in different languages, ensuring that special words, brand names, and titles are preserved in responses when direct translations are not appropriate. Customers will receive more accurate and contextually correct answers in their selected language.

POS Transactions in Maven Chat

Maven chat has been enhanced to provide meaningful information about a POS sale or return. The Most Recent Order widget can now display details relevant to in-store purchases. This ensures customers receive consistent and useful order status information, whether their purchase is shipped to them or purchased in-store.

Email AI Metrics in the Maven Dashboard

The Maven Dashboard has been enhanced to include the performance of Email AI. A filter is added to let users filter between chat and email interactions.

Maven: UI to Upload Documents

A new user interface is provided to upload and manage the documents Maven references for frequently asked questions and the policy documents for price match, damaged products, lost packages, and mis-ships.

Enterprise Promise & Fulfill

In the 25.4 release, we've enhanced Enterprise Promise & Fulfill™ with a dedicated order entry UI, improved procure-to-sell for stocked/non-stocked products, non-divisible item handling, inventory reallocation, private label support, restricted delivery, and dynamic merge routing.

At a Glance

  • AI Order Import Agents
  • Procure to Sell enhancements
  • Improved promising
  • New B2B Order Entry UI.

Procure to Sell

Stocked vs Non-Stocked Products

Procure to Sell helps businesses protect sales revenue, reduce holding costs, and provide accurate delivery promises by seamlessly leveraging vendor inventory—whether stocked, non-stocked, or drop-ship products. Procure to Sell for stocked products has been enhanced to support automatic procurement based on the order line quantity, ensuring on-hand inventory can be protected for other customers.

For non-stocked products, EPF now enables accurate promising and fulfillment through order-specific procurement or vendor drop-ship. Businesses can define products as non-stocked and automatically create purchase orders tied directly to customer orders. Procure to Sell also optimizes where to bring product into the network—whether into the optimal DC or through drop-ship rules configured by product or customer region. This ensures that even when items are not carried in inventory, sales can still be captured, delivery dates promised with confidence, and fulfillment aligned with the most efficient procurement path.

Promising & Optimization

We’re raising the bar for promising and optimization. These new innovations help enterprises maximize efficiency, reduce risk, and deliver on customer expectations with greater accuracy than ever.

Dynamic Merge Routing

Introduces rules that all enterprises to automatically decide when to merge orders, where to merge them, and how to optimize consolidation. By routing through preferred, regional, or central DCs based on dynamic conditions. Examples include consolidating split shipments at a DC before final delivery, and routing orders from specific regions through designated DCs.

Non-Divisible Products

This release introduces support for non-divisible products—items that must be fulfilled from a single supply source. Examples include 50M of rope, 125 yards of cable, 3.5M timber, or 20 cases of tile that cannot be split across lots, attributes, or supply types. With this capability, businesses can ensure these products are always allocated to one continuous supply, preventing partial fulfillment and preserving order integrity.

Past Due Inventory Reallocation

The system now automatically reevaluates orders tied to past due inventory and reallocates them to the best available supply. If an inbound shipment slips, affected orders are reassigned to on-hand or alternate sources to protect customer delivery dates.

Private Label Products

This feature simplifies availability and fulfillment for customer-specific branded products. Distributors and wholesalers can define “eligible accounts” for each private label item, ensuring seamless visibility and promising only to the customers authorized to purchase them.

Restricted Delivery

This feature enables enterprises to restrict delivery options based on the customer account and delivery address. For example, night delivery can be promised only to facilities equipped with secure lockers or access codes. By aligning delivery methods with eligible locations, failed delivery attempts are minimized, and customers only see fulfillment options that can be successfully executed.

B2B Order Entry UI

This release delivers an order entry user interface purpose-built for B2B, providing Sales and Customer Service teams with full control over creating and managing large, complex orders. The order entry UI enables users to quickly look up an account and adhere to the customer’s preferences. As items are added, users see item availability and estimated delivery dates, and users can also create quotes or request a specific delivery date for an order.

This new interface streamlines order edits with powerful capabilities, such as adjusting pricing, quantities, items, shipping details, delivery dates, ship-from information, and purchase order information.

Platform

With the 25.4 release, we've added over-the-air store app extensions for instant updates, Python as a standard customization tool, enhanced database extension validation and logging, plus expanded Supply Chain Intelligence reporting packages, boosting flexibility, reliability, and actionable operational visibility.

At a Glance

  • Manhattan Proactive updates
  • Python Support availability
  • Supply Chain Intelligence enhancements

Manhattan Proactive

ProActive delivers agility for developers and IT teams. Store App Extensions now support over-the-air updates, letting businesses bypass app store approvals for faster rollouts. Database extensibility improves with real-time validation and enhanced logging to prevent and resolve issues quickly. And with Python support in the ProActive Extension Configurator, teams gain more power to build, test, and deploy extensions seamlessly.

Instantly Update Your Store App with Over-the-Air Extensions

You can now modify and enhance your Manhattan Active® Omni store application on mobile devices without needing to republish it through the device's official app store. This powerful "over-the-air" update capability is enabled through a new Store App Extensions feature. This new process allows you to deploy UI and functionality changes—like custom branding, new workflows, or updated layouts—directly to your associates' devices. When an associate opens the application, it automatically checks for new updates, downloads the changes in the background, and applies them instantly.

This means you can roll out updates faster and ensure your team is always using the latest version of your custom application. To use this feature, create an extension pack and navigate to the new Store App Extensions tab in File Extensions. Here, you can upload your custom application files as a single ZIP file. Once uploaded, the platform takes care of the rest, making your updates available to all installed mobile applications.

Database Extensibility Enhancements

We've introduced several enhancements to make creating and managing database extensions easier, faster, and more reliable. These updates help you prevent errors before they happen and resolve issues more quickly.

Validation to Prevent Errors

The system now provides instant feedback as you build extensions to help you avoid common mistakes. Avoids Conflicts: You will now be automatically alerted if a custom attribute you are creating has already been defined in another extension pack. This prevents data conflicts and ensures your customizations work together seamlessly. Catches Typos Instantly: The system will immediately warn you if you assign an incorrect data type to an attribute (e.g., entering text where a number should be). This allows you to correct mistakes on the spot, rather than waiting for a deployment to fail.

Simplified Troubleshooting with Enhanced Logging

In the rare event that a deployment gets stuck, you can now diagnose the problem yourself without delay. Clearer Root Cause Analysis: If a deployment status remains in the "Deployment Initiated" phase for an extended period, you can now access detailed Database Extension logs directly from the Extension Dashboard. This empowers your team to quickly identify the root cause of the delay and resolve it, minimizing downtime and dependency on support.

Python Support Is Now Standard

Enhance your customizations using the power and flexibility of Python. Previously available on an opt-in basis, Python is now fully and automatically enabled as a supported language for extension development, complementing existing tools like Velocity and Freemarker.

This update provides a broader, more powerful toolkit for tailoring Manhattan Active solutions. Developers can use the dedicated Script Widget within the Extension Configurator to seamlessly incorporate Python-based logic into workflows, user exits, and event handlers. This streamlines the development process, allowing you to build more robust and efficient extensions to meet your specific business needs.
