Cloud-Native
Manhattan Active Platform is cloud-native: built, deployed, and operated as a modern technology solution that fully leverages the benefits of cloud computing. Natively leveraging the power of the cloud, all Manhattan Active solutions scale to meet demand, remain resilient in the face of failure, and are continuously updated to meet evolving market and customer needs.
Manhattan solutions are hosted on the Google Cloud platform in a multi-tenant model and are offered as a subscription service. Manhattan Active Platform leverages an extensive array of Google Cloud services, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Google Cloud SQL, Google Pub/Sub, Google Interconnect, and Google BigQuery.
100% Microservices
Manhattan Active® Platform is designed specifically for the cloud, utilizing a modern microservices architecture. This microservice architecture unlocks the full potential of cloud computing, empowering organizations with elastic scalability, dynamic extensibility, and seamless integration, all while remaining cost-effective, simple, and user-friendly.
The platform operates its microservices as independent, decoupled, and scalable processes. Every application component, custom extension, system service, and lifecycle service is deployed as a microservice. This design breaks down application components into small, physically independent functional modules, allowing each module to function independently while still delivering a cohesive solution to end-users in areas such as order management, warehouse management, and transportation management.
The architecture of Manhattan Active Platform ensures an always-current, cloud-native system. This eliminates downtime for upgrades or patches and prevents seasonal lockdowns during peak periods. Additionally, the small, manageable codebase of each microservice greatly enhances extensibility, enabling organizations to rapidly modify functionality and integrate with external systems. Today's market requires a cloud-native microservices architecture for supply chain commerce solutions, allowing organizations to adapt to the challenges and opportunities of modern supply chain commerce operations quickly and effectively.
Open, API-First
Manhattan Active Platform features an API-First architecture, which exposes business interfaces and data operations through well-documented REST API endpoints. These APIs facilitate user integration, system integration, and custom extensions for Manhattan Active solutions. With its API-first approach, Manhattan Active Platform operates as a completely open system, allowing access to functionality and data across the platform and all Manhattan Active solutions for integration with other systems. Manhattan Active Platform utilizes modern open-source technologies, making it compatible with a variety of cloud technologies. It is developed, tested, delivered, deployed, and managed using widely accepted open-source languages, frameworks, and runtimes. By leveraging these technologies, Manhattan Active Platform remains up to date with the latest technology enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates from the open-source community.
High Resiliency
Manhattan Active Platform serves as the foundation for highly resilient operations, providing a super-efficient system that automatically scales and repairs itself. This platform enables all Manhattan Active solutions to automatically optimize throughput and performance while effectively managing increasing traffic and volumes. Additionally, it supports auto-repair capabilities, ensuring multi-dimensional fault tolerance that guarantees high availability and uptime.
To facilitate horizontal scaling, Manhattan Active Platform leverages the concurrency and disposability of its microservices architecture, along with the power of Kubernetes. This design minimizes application downtime and allows for seamless scaling, continuously adjusting the deployment size to accommodate fluctuations in workload.
Security
Security of the customer’s data, intellectual property, and business workflows is of the highest priority in the design and development of Manhattan Active Platform. Special emphasis has been placed on ensuring that the security aspects of communication, authentication, authorization, and access control are designed and implemented with a security-driven software development lifecycle mindset. Moreover, the architecture and design of Manhattan Active Platform are continuously enhanced based on feedback from various forms of security testing (such as static, dynamic, and penetration) and reviews by InfoSec.
Manhattan Active solutions are offered as SaaS solutions, hosted and managed on Google Cloud Platform by the Manhattan Associates cloud operations team 24/7/365. There are seventy-two security controls in place, as prescribed by SOC regulations. Manhattan Active Platform is SOC2 compliant.
