Top 5 Takeaways from Momentum 2025

That’s a wrap on Momentum 2025. What a packed few days of sharing inspiring success stories with peers from the wonderful world of supply chain commerce in Las Vegas. Heading into a long weekend, it’s an excellent opportunity to reflect on the experiences, insights, and knowledge shared over the last few days. The event presented a wide range of captivating content, from inspiring keynote speeches to intriguing sessions that delved into the capabilities and possibilities that are emerging. Siloed supply chains are becoming a thing of the past, and unified commerce and Agentic AI will play key roles in driving transformative journeys.

As we get back into our day-to-day routine, it is important to remember some of the salient points and takeaways that can be critical in building a strategy for the agile and flexible supply chains of the future.

As a reminder, here are my five biggest takeaways from Momentum 2025:

Agentic AI in Supply Chain Commerce is a Worthy Investment

Sanjeev Siotia, Manhattan’s Chief Technology Officer drew a parallel between Agentic AI agents and a symphony composer—able to respond on the fly, read the room, understand the audience, and create a beautiful piece in real time. With all the complexity in supply chain commerce, I’m excited to see how our customers will take advantage of the out-of-the-box AI agents we announced this week. What’s more, customers can develop their own AI agents using the Manhattan Agent FoundryTM to further enhance their businesses. Agentic AI cannot be overhyped—the future starts today with the incremental gains it will bring.

Eric Clark, CEO of Manhattan speaks about Unification at Momentum 2025

Breaking the Silos – Unification

Times are uncertain right now and new challenges will continue to present themselves. Ryan Hanson, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Staples, emphasized that companies need to expect the unexpected and gone are the days of just getting though the Texas freeze, or a shortage or a blocked canal. Supply chains must be agile to adjust. And businesses that are unified across all parts of the supply chain—planning, inventory, fulfillment, transportation, labor, store, and digital channels—are the ones best placed to thrive in this chaos.

Unified Commerce is the Key to Success

Customers don’t see channels and are continually demanding seamless experience wherever they shop. Unified commerce is how this can make this happen. Shopping, fulfillment, checkout and customer service all need to be connected. With unified commerce, retailers will never lose the sale and build a loyal customer base – a true asset today.

Ngoc Phan, Vice President of Supply Chain at Nordstrom shared how important the brand’s commitment to a unified supply chain commerce has helped their business scale and be more efficient. Nordstrom’s unified supply chain coupled with a people-first attitude has allowed the brand to deliver products faster than ever, offering a modern customer experience and providing a positive place for all its employees to work.

The Bigger Role of Stores

While stores may contribute to the majority of your bottom line, they are so much more than transaction hubs. Stores are where your brand comes to life. Today’s shopper wants meaningful experiences at the store and brands can build strong connections with their customers through a seamless experience. Afterall, a store can be a fulfillment hub, an education hub and even an entertainment hub. Victor Seanez, Senior Director of Stores ERP and Business Systems at Pacsun shared how the brand has transformed its 300-plus stores into fulfillments hubs for online orders. The apparel brand can ship online orders and receive inventory for click-and-collect orders, all from its stores. Plus, with its latest deployment of Manhattan Active® Point-of-Sale (POS), it can now enable checkout faster than ever at the cash register.

Momentum 2025 Customer Party

It’s a Customer-First World

Of course, I’m biased. I’m incredibly proud of the success our customers have achieved and the insights they have shared with each other. It’s a real privilege to connect with so many of our customers this week. Customers, like AJ Sutera, Chief Technology Officer, at Duluth Trading Company shared how Duluth relied on Manhattan to unify, scale and modernize three distribution centers and 65 stores – just before peak season! The result: a true omnichannel transformation and a record-breaking holiday season. Miles Tedder, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Pet Supplies Plus, showcased how a unified Manhattan Active® Platform—seamlessly connecting supply chain execution, planning, and commerce—boosts efficiency across their 700-plus stores and four DCs. The result: faster, and more reliable inventory flow to stores and customers alike.

Not to forget, to give our B2B customers advanced promising & fulfillment capabilities to maximize inventory visibility, intelligent order promising, and fulfillment optimization, we launched Enterprise Promise & Fulfill.
